Drug charges, Victoria Point 24 July 2015
Police have charged a 22-year-old man following an incident on Colburn Avenue in Victoria Point last night.
At around 7:30pm officers stopped a vehicle to conduct a Random Breath Test. Following a search of the vehicle officers allegedly located a quantity of dangerous drugs.
Police will be alleged during the search, one of the vehicles occupants became involved in a physical altercation with officers, which required the deployment and use of a Taser.
A 22-year-old Victoria Point man has been charged with two counts of assault or obstruct police, three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and.
He is due to appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on August 18.
