Evade police and traffic crash, Capalaba

Police are investigating a series of incidents that occurred in the Logan and South Brisbane police districts yesterday afternoon.

Around 4pm, officers conducting random breath tests on Paradise Road in Underwood sighted a vehicle sharply turn away from them before speeding off.

The vehicle was monitored by POLAIR 1 and POLAIR 2 (Police Helicopter) as it drove dangerously along the Gateway Motorway and onto Old Cleveland Road.

A short time later, the vehicle travelled through a red light at the intersection of Redland Bay Road and Moreton Bay Road in Capalaba before colliding with another vehicle.

Following the crash, two men fled the scene on foot. One the men was arrested nearby while the other man remains outstanding.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 90-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
