Brisbane Bayside Winter Weather

Winter is from June to August in Australia, although visitors from some countries may not realise that it is actually winter 🙂

From the Bureau of Meteorology records, I have created a small guide showing temperatures at 9am and 3pm to help show what it may be like here during Winter.

June 2010 (the first month of Winter)

9am temperatures
The lowest temperature at 9am was 10.3°C
The highest temperature at 9am was 19.0°C
The mean average was 15.8

3pm temperatures
The lowest temperature at 3pm was 14.0°C
The highest temperature at 3pm was 21.4°C
The mean average was 19.4°C

The highest June temperature recorded was 24.3 on the 6th June
The lowest June temperature recorded was 5.4 on 30th June

July 2010 (the middle month of Winter)

9am temperatures
The lowest temperature at 9am was 13.2°C
The highest temperature at 9am was 20.6°C
The mean average was 16.2

3pm temperatures
The lowest temperature at 3pm was 15.0°C
The highest temperature at 3pm was 22.7°C
The mean average was 19.1°C

The highest July temperature recorded was 23.0 on the 13th July
The lowest July temperature recorded was 4.0 on the 15th July

August 2010 (the last month of Winter)

9am temperatures
The lowest temperature at 9am was 13.0°C
The highest temperature at 9am was 19.1°C
The mean average was 16.4

3pm temperatures
The lowest temperature at 3pm was 16.8°C
The highest temperature at 3pm was 24.0°C
The mean average was 19.9°C

The highest August temperature recorded was 26.0 on the 1st August
The lowest August temperature recorded was 4.6 on the 16th August

The coldest times of each day tend to be around 5 or 6 am, from my own experience, although it appears it is colder before I wake up.

The June 2011 lowest temperature was 4.8°C on the 24th June 2011, and this was recorded at 3:44 am.  By 9:00 am it had reached 13.8°C

The following graph shows how the temperature can change during a 24 hour period.
