Detectives have charged two men following a spate of incidents in the Cleveland area in the early hours of Saturday morning, 14th Oct 2017, including the serious assault and robbery of a woman at Manly.

Police will allege around 2am the pair broke into a residence on Cambridge Parade, Manly before stealing the keys to a vehicle. When a 43-year-old female resident attempted to stop the pair she was seriously assaulted by one of the men.

The pair then fled the scene on foot.

The woman sustained serious facial injuries as a result of the incident and was transported to Redlands Hospital.

Around 2.45am police will allege the pair then broke into a residence on Singer Street, Wynnum and stole car keys before stealing a silver Honda Civic sedan and fleeing the scene.

It will then be alleged that the pair drove the stolen Honda Civic to a residence on Finucane Road, Alexandra Hills around 4am where they advised a 69-year-old male resident that they were police officers. The resident opened his gate and the men forced their way into the dwelling before rummaging through several areas of the home. The men then made threats towards the resident before damaging property and assaulting the victim several times. The pair then stole tobacco, several knives, an antique firearm and a sum of cash before leaving in the stolen Honda Civic.

The man suffered bruising and lacerations and was treated at the scene.

Around 5.50am early Saturday morning it will be alleged the stolen Honda Civic was involved in a traffic crash on Rosella Street Wellington Point.

Both men were taken into custody by police at the scene.
