Armed robberies, Wellington Point
Police are searching for a man who used a syringe to rob two food stores at Wellington Point this morning.
Around 8.30am a man entered an Old Cleveland Road business and made demands for money.
A sum of cash was obtained by the man before he fled on foot.
Shortly after around 9am it is believed the same man has used a syringe to rob another food store at Main Street before again fleeing on foot.
No one was physically injured in either incident.
The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 40s or 50s with a proportionate build and brown hair, parted in middle.
Investigations are continuing.

Cleveland Detectives have charged a man following investigations into alleged armed robberies of two businesses at Wellington Point this morning.
It will be alleged at about 8.30am a man entered a business armed with a syringe and threatened staff before fleeing with a sum of cash. Staff at a second business were threatened by the same man at about 9am.
A 50-year-old Birkdale man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offences and one count each of possess dangerous drug, fail dispose of syringe and possess property used in connection with a drug offence.
The man will appear at the Cleveland Magistrates Court Saturday morning.
