Assault, Redland Bay

Officers from the Bayside Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) are investigating an incident that occurred in Redland Bay on Tuesday, 25th Nov, 2014.

Around 3:00 pm a 14-year-old girl was walking along an easement near Cleveland-Redland Bay Road and Clay Gully when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man.

A short struggle ensued and the girl bit the man on the arm at which time he released her. She then ran home and reported the incident to police.

The girl was not physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being aged between 20-30 years-old, Caucasian in appearance with a tanned complexion and approximately 185 cm tall. He had dark short shaved hair with a solid build. He was wearing long blue jeans, a black t-shirt and no shoes.

Police are appealing for any witness that may have information in regards to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Policelink on 131 444.
