Serious assault, Wellington Point

A man has been seriously injured during an assault in Wellington Point this morning.

At around 5am, a man in his 60’s disturbed a man who may have been trying to break into his house on Starkey Street.

The man called for help and a neighbour came to assist, and called police and emergency services.

The man has been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with several stab wounds to his chest, back and leg.

Police are currently cordoning off areas around the address, and a search is underway for the offender.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour around the area to contact them.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are looking for a man in relation to the serious assault of a man in Wellington Point this morning.

At around 5am, a man in his 60’s disturbed a man who may have been trying to break into his house on Starkey Street.

The victim was stabbed several times during the incident, and also managed to hit the man across the face with a shoe, which likely caused facial injuries.

The man is described as being in his early 20’s, 180cm tall, of a fit/slim build, and was wearing dark clothing. He may also have facial injuries and bruising.

The victim was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
