Wilful damage charges, Cleveland

Police have charged two men following investigations into the break and enter and willful damage of two schools early this morning.

Around 2am, police responded to alarm activations at a Cleveland high school and primary school on Wynard Street.

It will be alleged two men were found inside a classroom when they fled the scene but were apprehended by police short time later.

Police will allege that the pair caused damage to a number of doors and windows at both schools.

Two 17-year-old Cleveland men have been charged with two counts each of enter premises, wilful damage and one count each of obstruct police.

They are scheduled to appear before the Cleveland Magistrates Court on May 31.
